Questions and Answers
At what age can I bring my kitten home?
Kittens commonly go home between 12-16 weeks of age. This allows the kittens to grow with their mom and siblings. They learn how to use the litter box, groom themselves, and play without being too rough.
What do you feed the kittens?
We feed all our cats and kittens TIki Cat brand food. We find it has the most protein and least amount of fillers. The kittens are raised on Tiki Cat Born Carnivore dry and wet kitten food. It is very important to provide high-quality, wet food. We have had a bad experience with low-quality wet food and do not recommend risking the possible food poisoning that can go along with it. We do not receive any compensation for Tiki Cat, but we do feel strongly about feeding a high-quality food such as Tiki Cat or one recommended by your veterinarian.
Do I have to have my kitten spayed/neutered?
Yes, we require you to have your kitten spayed/neutered but recommend waiting until they are 6 months old. It is important to wait until that age to protect their urinary tract. "Fixing" your kitten is necessary to protect their health from common health problems that can occur otherwise, including uterine infections and reproductive cancers. Cats that are not fixed can display emotional distress, behavior problems such as aggression, and spraying strong-smelling urine around the house. Having your cat spayed/neutered also helps to increase their life expectancy.
Will I get official paperwork for my kitten to prove he/she is purebred?
Yes, once you provide proof of spay or neuter from your veterinarian, you will be provided with paperwork to register your kitten with TICA or CFA.
Can I show my kitten?
Yes, once you have provided proof of spaying or neutering, you will receive your registration paperwork, which will indicate that your kitten is allowed to be shown. Please indicate if this is an option you would like to choose.
How much does a kitten cost?
Our kittens sell from $2000-$2300. We require a deposit of $400 to reserve your kitten once it is chosen.
What payments do you take?
We accept Zelle or Venmo for the deposit and cash for the remaining balance at pickup.
How do I reserve a Kitten?
The first step is to fill out an inquiry form. Once you are approved to reserve a kitten, you will send your deposit via Venmo or Zelle. If your kitten is not yet old enough to go home, we will provide at least two photos and one short video through email or text message every other week until pickup day. The remaining payment will be due before pickup.
